The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies is taking part, through its Public Engagement Unit and Institutional Communication Unit, in the 2025 edition of “Destination Public Engagement #7”, the annual event promoted by APEnet – the Italian Network of Universities and Research Institutions for Public Engagement, scheduled for 6–7 November at the University of Naples Federico II.

The initiative is one of the main national events dedicated to reflecting on the public value of knowledge and on the policies and practices that foster dialogue between universities, research institutions, and society. Over the course of two days, institutional representatives, scholars, and professionals will share tools, experiences, and innovative strategies aimed at strengthening the social impact of research and promoting an increasingly open and participatory relationship with communities.

This year’s edition focuses particularly on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and on territorial co-design experiences, highlighting how Public Engagement can serve as a driver of shared innovation and development — capable of addressing real territorial needs and fostering the creation of collaborative networks among institutions, citizens, and enterprises.

The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, long committed to enhancing the public dimension of research, contributes to APEnet’s activities through participation in working groups and initiatives devoted to the dissemination of good practices, training, and the joint design of socially impactful actions. The School’s presence at the Naples event reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the dialogue between academia and society, in line with its institutional mission to promote knowledge, innovation, and active participation.

“Destination Public Engagement #7” represents a valuable opportunity to consolidate the national network of universities and research institutions engaged in Third Mission activities and to share common perspectives towards research that is ever more open, inclusive, and oriented toward the public good.
